Ice Pond Preserve Expands:
CNLT just added almost 12 acres to its Ice Pond Preserve.

Grants in Action:
CNLT has received $4,200 in grants to complete management plans of our Ice Pond Preserve and our Ball Field Preserve from the Maine Community Foundation and from the LL Bean Maine Land Trust Grant Program and Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Management plans are a study of the geography, history, flora and fauna that will guide our stewardship efforts.

Kilkenny Cove Conservation:
CNLT purchased 1.4 acres on the ocean side of the Old Pond Railway Trail by Kilkenny Cove — a prime conservation area. With Frenchman Bay Conservancy and Maine Coast Heritage Trust, CNLT also stabilized the trestle on the rail trail and added new stairs to the water, which facilitates access for local clammers, wormers and hikers.

Carters Beach Corridor:
Board member Steven Crabtree and his wife, Marcia, donated 5 acres of oceanfront land along Carters Beach Road to the conservation corridor CNLT is working to complete.

Food Bank Donations:
In 2019, our Community Garden members donated around 1,300 pounds of produce — from bok choy to kale to rhubarb — to 4 area food pantries.
